MY REVIEW

I started reading this one evening and I just couldn't put it down. The story-line is unique and it makes you want to keep reading until the end. I can't wait to read more of this if there is a sequel to it (I hope there will be).

I highly recommend this book.

Hanna-Barbera: Christmas Classics Collection and Rankin Bass (REVIEW)

Hanna-Barbera Christmas Classics Collection – A dog and a mouse head for the North Pole to deliver a lost letter. Hanna-Barbera superstars lend a helping hand to the world’s friendliest ghost. The greediest boy in the world discovers the magic of giving. What could three such different tales have in common? Hanna-Barbera and Santa Claus, that’s what! Hanna-Barbera assembled its mightiest talents of pen and voice to produce one of its first forays into prime-time animated Christmas specials, A Christmas Story, the tale of Goober and Gumdrop’s quest to save Christmas for one little boy. Dick Van Dyke narrates The Town Santa Forgot, based on Charmaine Severson’s beloved poem “Jeremy Creek” about the confusion created by a gargantuan wish list. Casper’s First Christmas sees Casper facing a Christmas Eve eviction when he receives holiday help from the likes of Yogi Bear, Boo-Boo, Huckleberry Hound, Snagglepuss, Quick Draw McGraw, Augie Doggie and Doggie Daddy. This collection includes: A Christmas Story (1971), The Town Santa Forgot (1993), Casper's First Christmas (1979)

Rankin/Bass TV Holiday Favorites Collection – Four family classics from the studio that helped make the holidays magic! The Little Drummer Boy Book II: Starting where the original left off, Book II sends Aaron, the little drummer boy, off on a quest to aid Simeon, crafter of the silver bells. With Greer Garson and Zero Mostel. The Stingiest Man in Town: Rankin/Bass departs from its usual stop-motion “Animagic” process for this line animation adaptation of Dicken’s A Christmas Carol. With Walter Matthau, and Tom Bosley. Pinocchio’s Christmas: After Fox tricks him out of a gift for Geppetto, Pinocchio sets out on an adventure to reclaim Christmas. Along the way he meets up with a beautiful marionette and a jolly old man in a flying sleigh. With Alan King. The Leprechaun’s Christmas Gold: A sailor and a leprechaun join forces to reclaim the Christmas gold after a wailing banshee makes off with it, thanks to the sailor’s blunder. With Art Carney and Peggy Cass.

MY REVIEW

I was surprised that some of these cartoons I haven't seen before or if I did it must have been when I was a child and do not remember them. I admit that I have always loved watching Christmas cartoons/tv shows and movie and I still do even now at 35.

Anyways I loved both dvds. Some of the cartoons Ithought were not as good (I didn't really like The Stingiest Man in Town)  but my favourite is  Casper's First Christmas. Funny how I wasn't a fan of Casper when I was a child but I very much loved this cartoon. The quality of the DVDs are pretty good and the sound as well.I know I will be watching this one again next year :)

If you are a fan of older cartoons and just love Christmas cartoons like I do then I think this is one you should get.

MY REVIEW

I am  fan of Futurama but I do only get to  watch it once in a while when I am still awake or when i remember to watch it when it plays on tv .  Anyways, I have watched this entire series on DVD and I very much enjoyed it. It isn't for everyone but both my husband and I love it and we love volume 7. This past season is just as funny has the others and I think just as good as all the others. We had a few laughs. If you are a fan of this show then I think you will love to have volume 7. If you know someone who likes this show this would be a great gift and that is why I have added it to my 2012 Holiday gift guide.

Finding Gaia by Kimberly Chapman (ebook review)

Wealthy, handsome Jason Truitt appears to have it all: he runs an international conglomerate of environmental businesses and research facilities, he lives in a luxurious mansion…and he can’t die. But his uncanny health and failure to age keep him distanced from normal human life. For over a century he’s been searching for the one other person on earth he suspects is afflicted with the same condition. Like him, she has lived under many different names to keep her immortality secret, so in honour of her supernatural ability to induce plant growth by thought alone, he thinks of her as Gaia.

Finding Gaia, however, is only the beginning, for where he has used his talents toward prosperity, hers have brought loss, isolation, abduction, and unspeakable torture. She will need all that he can give to reclaim her own inner strength and rediscover who, what, and when she is.

MY REVIEW

Scrat's nutty pursuit of the cursed acorn, which he's been after since the dawn of time, has world-changing consequences – a continental cataclysm that triggers the greatest adventure of all for Manny, Diego and Sid. In the wake of these upheavals, Sid reunites with his cantankerous Granny, and the herd encounters a ragtag menagerie of seafaring pirates determined to stop them from returning home.

Creative Bio Science 90 Day Challenge

I do not usually do New Year's Resolutions but this year I am because I want to lose a bit of weight and be healthier.

Back in 2004 when I first met my husband I weighed about 118lbs but after a gall bladder surgery and quiting smoking (all in at the same time) I then ended up gaining weight and now I am sad to say I have gained 100lbs since then and I am not happy about it because I am still my hyper self but now I tend to get tired faster than I did before. I know I most likely will never be back to my old weight and I am fine with that but I would be happy just losing 20lbs. That is why I have decided to do the this 90-day challenge and hopefully it is help me lose a bit of  weight.

Next year I will start a 90 day challenge with Creative BioScience. I will be taking Green Coffee Bean Pure Extract to help me since I love coffee. I am am planning to  stop drinking coffee , eat better and do my regular exercise (taking our dog for long walks) and try to fit in a workout a few days per week. I will be posting again halfway through and at the very end to let you know how I am doing and if it is helping or not. Hopefully we will see some good results.

Are you a blogger? You can apply to take a Creative Bioscience 90 challenge by visiting: http://www.creativebioscience.com/90_day_contest.html.

Marvel Avengers Battle For Earth (Xbox360 Kinnect Game Review)

Thank you to Ubisoft for sponsoring this post. Please click here to learn more about Ubisoft. I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective. #UbiChamps

Do you have someone in your family who just loves super-hero games? Both my husband and I love super hero games so I jumped on the chance to review this game.

It plays different than what we are used to when it comes to super-hero games. With this game you are the controller. You kick and move your arms and I have to say it is quite a workout but it is very fun. I have played this a few times since I received it and my legs and arms were sore for a few days. It is fun playing on your own but you can also play with friends as well but I haven't tried playing with a friend (or my husband) because you do need quite a bit of room and my dog gets excited when just one person plays a game like that and he starts jumping around on and  with the person. This is a game I will be playing again in the future.

More info on the game

  • USE MOTION TO FIGHT AS A SUPER HERO - Connect with Kinect - Trigger super attacks with your movements.
  • EXPERIENCE A WIDE VARIETY OF GAME MODES - Co-op, Campaign, Arcade, Challenges, Versus, and Tournament.
  • TONS OF BONUSES TO UNLOCK - Work your way through the battles, you'll unlock unique outfits and collector cards.
  • BATTLE WITH AN ENHANCED FIGHTING SYSTEM - Use Super Attacks, Velocity Boost, Breaker, or Frenzy to beat your opponents.
  • Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth features 20 different characters, including Avengers such as Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America and Thor, as well as other fan-favorite Super Heroes and Super Villains from the Marvel Universe.

Marvel The Avengers: Battle For Earth is rated M for Mature and it is for Xbox360 Kinnect and Ninetendo WiiU. You can purchase this at amazon.com or a store near you that sells video games.

If you love super-hero games then I highly recommend this game because it is fun and not overly difficult (well it isn't if you put it on easy mode ) but it is still challenging if you are horrible at playing video games like I am . The graphics are pretty good.
