Disclaimer: Tropical Traditions provided me with a free sample of this product to review, and I was under no obligation to review it if I so chose. Nor was I under any obligation to write a positive review in return for the free product.

Have you heard of Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil ?  I only found out about it back in 2011 when they had sent me a jar . Back then I really didn't know what to use it for so I had made Chocolate Mug Cake (recipe will be lower down in this post) but I started to get a bit braver and made a few other things with this Virgin Coconut Oil. Just last week I didn't have any extra virgin olive oil to grease the pizza pan for pizza so I used Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil.  I have also use it to make eggs and cake. I even used it to make fried rice.

There are a bunch of great recipes on their website I would love to try and I will be trying them in the near future. Check out their recipes.

Chocolate Mug Cake

a microwavable mug
4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
1 Egg
3 Tablespoons milk
3 Tablespoons oil (I used coconut oil)
a drop or 2 of Vanilla

  • Mix flour, sugar and cocoa:
  • Spoon in 1 egg
  • Pour in milk and oil, and mix well
  • Put in microwave for 3 minutes on maximum power
  • Wait until it stops rising and sets in the mug

My husband isn't really a big fan of coconuts but he love it in the mug cake and keeps asking me to make him some.
