March is Nutrition Month With Spiced Tea Coconut Latte Recipe

March is Nutrition Month – the perfect time to resurrect your health-focused resolutions by making small changes to your lifestyle and diet. Healthy eating contributes to overall health and well-being. In fact, one small change can lead to big results.
A recent Canadian survey* conducted by Vision Critical for Truvia® sweetener – a naturally-sourced, stevia-based, calorie-free sweetener – indicates that 67 per cent of Canadians want to lead a healthier lifestyle in 2014 and 39 per cent plan to reduce their sugar intake.

Adopting a healthier lifestyle requires changes from diet and exercise to sleep and work-life balance; however, experts agree that it is easier to make one adjustment at a time. For example, cutting just 100 calories per day can equal a 10-pound weight loss over the course of one year.
“Making small changes to your diet, such as using Truvia® calorie-free sweetener in your coffee or tea as an alternative to sugar or other sweeteners can help you reach your goals faster," emphasizes Registered Dietitian Lydia Knorr.

The survey also found that:
• The majority of Canadians (71%) are concerned about the possible side effects of artificial sweeteners
• Two–thirds (67%) prefer a sweetener from a natural source and one-third (32%) prefer sweeteners with zero calories
• Half of Canadians (48%) are willing to pay more for foods or beverages made with no artificial sweeteners

So if healthier eating is your goal, then why not start by switching to a naturally-sourced, stevia-based sweetener and get Nutrition Month off to the right start.
