Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows movie review

Around the globe, headlines break the news: a scandal takes down an Indian cotton tycoon; a Chinese opium trader dies of an apparent overdose; bombings in Strasbourg and Vienna; the death of an American steel magnate... no one sees the connective thread between these seemingly random events—no one, that is, except the great Sherlock Holmes, who has discerned a deliberate web of death and destruction. At its center sits a singularly sinister spider: Moriarty.

Holmes’ investigation into Moriarty’s plot becomes more dangerous as it leads him and Watson out of London to France, Germany and finally Switzerland. But the cunning Moriarty is always one step ahead, and moving perilously close to completing his ominous plan. If he succeeds, it will not only bring him immense wealth and power but alter the course of history.

MY REVIEW

My husband and I saw Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows in theater and we were going to buy it on Blu-ray anyways because we loved it so much so when I jumped on the chance to review this when I was asked.

We watched this on Saturday night and we just loved it as much as we did the first time we saw it in theaters. This movie is one of the best movies I have had the chance to review. I love the action and all the actors were awesome and ofcourse I love the storyline. If you liked the first one I think you will like this one as well. I know I will be watching this movie again and again in th future. My husband and I highly recommend this movie.

  1. The first of Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes was a big achievement for how it renewed one of the most beloved characters from literature successfully in film. The fact that he was able to make a good sequel to that is perhaps an even greater achievement. I skipped this movie in theaters thinking it was just a cash grab on the tails of the success of the first, but decided to rent it after a coworker at Dish said it was better than the first. I put it on my Blockbuster @Home queue, and it came in the mail yesterday. I had a great time watching it with my girlfriend, and we both agreed that it was as good if not better than the first. I was able to rent the Blu-Ray too, which was great and really gave that home theater experience. I would recommend this movie to anyone, it is just one of those popcorn munching Hollywood spectaculars that will appeal to everyone.
