Creative Bio Science 90 Day Challenge (1st update)

Well it has almost been a month since I have started Creative Bio Science 90 Day Challenge. I was going to update sooner but I had been swamped with work.

Anyways I started the challenge at 210 lbs (Yikes!!) on January 2nd 2013. I checked my weight every week since and I am happy to say that when I weighed myself today I was down to 200 lbs. Not bad considering this month we had a week of crazy cold weather and all I felt like doing was hibernate but I had days I forced myself to go outside and run around in the backyard with my dog for 10 minutes just so that we both had some exercise and of course I did a bit of WiiFit so at least I was a little bit active.

Also I really should have quit coffee and soft drinks but I am just slowly cutting down. I am now putting smaller portions on my plates at meal time.

It was difficult for the first 2 weeks to remember to take the Green Coffee Bean Pure Extract 30 minutes before meals twice per day but now I have no problem remembering to take it everyday.

So far I am very happy with  Creative BioScience .

I will be posting an other update in a few weeks. Hopefully I will have more good news for you then.

Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller brings the dark horrors of Boston to light. From Phoenix Online Studios, the acclaimed developer behind The Silver Lining, this point-and-click adventure is an engrossing narrative with a truly evocative atmosphere. With story consultation by famed game designer Jane Jensen (Gabriel Knight), this is a chilling, thought-provoking mystery following Erica Reed, a Boston-based FBI agent, haunted by the unsolved case of a serial killer who took her brother’s life. With the use of Erica’s post-cognition abilities -- seeing an object’s past with a touch -- players are challenged to unravel a complex tableau of characters, plots, and puzzles over the course of four episodes. A talented cast of voice actors, breathtaking hand-drawn art, an all-star development team (including artist Romano Molenaar), and branching puzzles that have several different paths to solve the mystery, Cognition is an unforgettable adventure game experience.

Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller -- Episode One is now available for download for $9.99 or as part of a Season Pass for $29.99, which includes all four episodes as they are released along with an exclusive Cognition digital comic. The single game and Season Pass can now be purchased at Rain Digital Games, GamersGate, Green Man Gaming, GameFly, and GameStop.

MY REVIEW

I very much enjoyed   episode one of this game.. It is a little different than what I would usually play but it is a fun game so far and I am thinking of buying the season pass.  This game isn't for everyone because there are some blood and gore and language . It is rated M for Mature .

The sound quality is good and voice acting pretty decent. Graphics are pretty good for this kind of game .

It isn't a completely easy game. There are puzzles to solve and episode one will give you a few hours of game play.

I give this 4 out of 5.

Gates of Paradise (Blue Bloods #7) by Melissa de la Cruz (book review)

Schuyler Van Alen is running out of time. The Dark Prince of Hell is storming the Gates of Paradise, intent on winning the heavenly throne for good. This time he has his greatest angels by his side, Abbadon and Azrael—Jack and Mimi Force, as they are known in the Coven.

Or so he thinks. Even as Lucifer assigns Jack and Mimi the tasks of killing their true loves, the Force twins secretly vow to defeat the Dark Prince once and for all. But how far will Mimi and Jack go to conceal their real loyalties?

Meanwhile, former vampire Bliss Llewellyn has joined forces with Lawson, the greatest wolf of the underworld, to free his people from their imprisonment in Hell. As they struggle against impossible odds, an ancient message, woven into the very fabric of time, reveals just how much depends on the success of their mission.

Lucifer seeks the key to the Gate of Promise, and when Schuyler is taken captive and delivered straight to Hell, she must make an unthinkable choice—the same one the archangel Michael was forced to make during the Crisis in Rome. Will Schuyler find the strength to do what he could not?

The epic, heartbreaking Blue Bloods series comes to a close with this final novel about staggering courage, unbearable sacrifice, and the immortality of true love.

MY REVIEW

I have read a few books by Melissa de la Cruz but this is the first book in the Blue Blood series I have read and considering I only started reading book #7 I wasn't really confused but I wish I would have read the other books before.

I very much enjoyed this book so much that I have now put the other books in this series in my long list of books I want to buy. Gates Of Paradise is very well written and I just couldn't stop reading it.

I highly recommend this book.

You can purchase this book at major bookstores and online.

Amazon Gold Box Deal of the Day: Far Cry 3 $34.99 #FarCryGold #Spon

Thank you to Ubisoft for sponsoring this post. Please visit Amazon.com to get your own copy of Far Cry 3, today's Gold Box Deal of the Day! I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective. All opinions are my own.

Everyone has different ways to relieve stress. Some people work out, some people do gardening or cooking but usually for me good ways to relieve stress is  by blogging or taking a nice long hot bath and read a good book but these days I have been playing video games more than ever before and I find it has been helping me to relieve stress. It doesn't really matter what game I play really but once in a while I like to play first-person shooters like Far Cry 3.
I must admit that I have not played Far Cry 3 as of yet (or the other 2 games in the franchise) but I will be getting is soon because  it sure looks like a great and fun game to relieve the stress away.

This game is rated M for Mature so this isn't a good game to buy for your children but this is a good game to play once your children are asleep or out. We do not have any children so I can play it whenever I want.

If you like the Far Cry games and still do not have the third game then today is the prefect time to get it because Far Cry 3 is Amazon.com's Gold Box Deal of the Day and it is only $34.99 so I suggest you hurry up and go buy it right now because this awesome deal ends tonight.

Clever Girls is also giving away 5 copies of Far Cry 3 today via Twitter to folks who RT the following:

The Redemption of Mata Hari (Ryoku, the Game of Power #2) by Scott Rhine (ebook review)

A poor word choice when arguing with an angel sends Aaron to the Abyss. Creatures are usually exiled to the Caves of Ice for good reason, but when Aaron discovers a frozen, 1950s starlet praying, there must have been a mistake. To rescue her, he has to make a deal with a crocodile demon. Meet the tribes of the djinn as you travel the lands of Dante’s Inferno, the Talmud, and the Arabian Nights in the supernatural sequel to Foundation for the Lost.

Fans of the Dresden Files will enjoy the action and the political maneuvering with the witches of Salem and a demon in Las Vegas.

MY REVIEW

I have read and reviewed a few of Scott Rhine's books and I have enjoyed every single one of them and this one is no exception. I absolutely loved every minute of it. Very well written.

If you liked the first book in this series (Foundation for the Lost) , I think you will enjoy this one.

Taken 2 on Blu-Ray review

FIRST THEY TOOK HIS DAUGHTER…
NOW THEY’RE COMING FOR HIM

Liam Neeson returns as Bryan Mills, the retired CIA agent who stopped at nothing to save his abducted daughter in TAKEN.  When he is targeted by a mysterious figure seeking vengeance, Bryan must employ his “particular set of skills” to protect his family against an army out to kill them.
From acclaimed filmmaker Luc Besson (who co-scripted and produces TAKEN 2), co-screenwriter Robert Mark Kamen (who has penned both TAKEN films with Besson), and director Olivier Megaton (Columbiana, Transporter 3), TAKEN 2 follows the global success of Taken, released in 2008, which earned $224 million in worldwide box office. Audiences cheered Neeson as Bryan Mills, an overprotective father whose skills – forged through years of covert ops – were put to the test long after his retirement from the CIA.
Resolute in his quest to rescue his daughter, Bryan took extreme measures, making sure her kidnappers paid the ultimate price. Two years later, their family is seeking vengeance against Bryan and his family.

MY REVIEW

OK I have not seen the first one. I wanted to but just never got around to it and I have to say now I very much want to see the first one.

WOW!!!  This movie is awesome. If you love lots of action in a movie then I think you will love this one. This movie is action packed  and it will keep you at the edge of your seat. I love this movie and I know I will be watching this one a bunch of times in the future. Awesome acting, awesome effects and sound quality is fantastic. I also recommend you watch the features that are on the dics.

Taken 2 is now available to purchase in stores.

                                                                      Sorry for the blurry photo

The first one I tried was LMFO's Sexy And I Know It which wasn't too difficult on easy . I didn't really like this game at all . The graphics were ok but not that great compared to other dance games out there. Personally I would not bother buying this one but maybe if I were a Hip Hop fan I would have enjoyed this more than I do.

Let’s be organised in 2013

Let’s be organised in 2013

New Year new me! Sound familiar? Every year I am exactly the same; I make promises with myself that I will go to the gym more often, I will eat healthier and I definitely won’t class orange and chocolate brownies as one of my 5 a day! But this year is a little bit different, I have chosen to go down a completely different root which I feel needs a lot of work. My organisation skills!
Due to this, I have composed a list of useful ways to organise yourself and your time in 2013:

Buy a calendar
How do you expect to remember everything without writing it down? Despite us thinking that we will remember everything that we are told, unfortunately we aren’t that great; and therefore investing in a calendar should be on top of our to do list for 2013. It doesn’t have to be plain and boring; you can now buy gorgeous ones from the shops or alternatively you could make your own stylish calendar. This way you can include all of those beautiful family pictures you took over Christmas, and organise your life at the same time.

Bank Online
What with holding down a job, looking after the kids, and generally keeping your home from being run to the ground, there is always something that is forgotten. In my case, this is payments. I am absolutely shocking at remembering to transfer money each month, and usually results in the last Saturday of the month being spent running from one bank to another. However, a friend of mine has opened my eyes to the wonderful world of online banking, which I have now realised is the future. Online banking is an easy and safe equivalent to going into branch and it doesn’t cost you any time or money; which if I’m honest, for me and I am sure quite a few of you is valuable.

Be sure to Delegate
Delegating tasks is one of the easiest ways to keep track of your time. Whether you are trying to organise yourself or everyone around you, by sharing out your duties with the rest of the family you have more time to worry about the other little things that you have to do.

Plan ahead!
Saving everything to the last minute is sure enough bound to give you a migraine. Therefore, your mission should be to make 2013 the year that you organise all of your adventures way ahead of schedule. By doing this, you will allow yourself plenty of time to do everything else, and still have a social life. Despite what people may think, mums don’t have 8 arms and 8 legs, and therefore need to plan their time accordingly.
There are many ways in which you can organise yourself in 2013, but these are just a few which I am already noticing are helping with my everyday life.

Here is to a very organised 2013!

MY REVIEW

My hubby and I watched this movie last night and I have to say that  I do not recommend this movie!!  I thought acting was horrible and personally I thought it was boring. There were a few parts that made me laugh ( hubby laughed more than I did) but I do not find that it is even worth buying at all.  Worst movie I have seen in a while.

Taken 2 Blu-ray Giveaway

FIRST THEY TOOK HIS DAUGHTER…
NOW THEY’RE COMING FOR HIM

Liam Neeson Returns in the Action-Packed Sequel from Producer Luc Besson
Arriving on Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD January 15

Unrated Blu-ray Includes Black Ops Field Manual and Kill Counter,
Deleted Scenes, Alternate Ending and More
He hunted them, he found them, he killed them; now they have come back to settle the score.  Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment presents the return of former CIA operative Bryan Mills and his “particular set of skills” when TAKEN 2 arrives on Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD January 15.  The sequel to the 2008 box office smash Taken, this action-packed follow-up has brought in $135 million theatrically in the U.S. alone.

Oscar- and BAFTA-nominated actor, Liam Neeson (Clash of the Titans, Taken, Batman Begins) returns as Mills, the retired CIA agent who stopped at nothing to save his daughter Kim from kidnappers. When the father of one of the villains Bryan killed swears revenge, and takes him and his wife hostage in Istanbul, Bryan must enlist the help of Kim to escape. Bryan then employs his unique tactics to get his family to safety and systematically take out the kidnappers, one by one.

MY DAD CAN BEAT UP YOUR DAD!”

He hunted them, he found them, he killed them; now they have come back to settle the score. Bryan Mills is one ass-kicking dad, to be sure. But is he the ultimate? Take a look at this collection of the most bad-ass dads around and judge for yourself!

Bryan Mills, Taken 2
Oscar® and BAFTA-nominated actor Neeson returns in Taken 2 as Bryan Mills, the retired CIA agent who stopped at nothing to save his daughter Kim from kidnappers. When the father of one of the villains Bryan killed swears revenge, and takes him and his wife hostage in Istanbul, Bryan must enlist the help of Kim to escape. Bryan then employs his unique tactics to get his family to safety and systematically take out the kidnappers, one by one by one!

John Quincy Archibald, John Q

Denzel Washington stars as the title character, John Q, a down-on-his luck dad whose insurance won't cover his son's heart transplant. He has no choice but to take the hospital's entire emergency room hostage. Despite his agression, the audience roots for John who is driven by a father’s love and will stop at nothing until the doctors agree to perform the operation.

John McClane, Die Hard
John McClane (Bruce Willis) is certainly one of the most iconic action heroes of all time, but most forget that he’s also a dad! When we arrive at the fourth entry to the Die Hard series, Live Free or Die Hard, McClane’s daughter, Lucy, gets taken hostage, and John is not going to back down until she’s safe. In the fifth installment of the franchise, watch for McClane to team up with his son to take down terrorists.

Don Vito Corleone, The Godfather
Who could be a bigger butt-kicking father than the Godfather (Marlon Brando) himself?! He won’t just kick ass in the name of his children, he’ll have you “taken care of” without breaking a sweat. Throughout the infamous film trilogy, we watch as the Godfather’s successor, his middle son Michael (Al Pacino), takes the reigns and surpasses his father’s legacy, making more irefusable offers and putting fear into the hearts of men all for the sake of his family.

President James Marshall, Air Force One
One of the most beloved action stars ever, Harrison Ford stars as the quintessential dad: The President of the United States and leader of the free world. Following a speech that dictates the United States will not noegotiate with terrorists, his family is attacked by assailants aboard Air Force One. But don’t worry, Mr. President is not going to take this lying down.

Darth Vader, Star Wars
It’s true, not all dads use their powers for good. Darth Vader, Dark Lord of the Sith, may be the Supreme Commander of the “dark side” and the righthand to its evil emperor, but let’s not forget it was his overwhelming love for wife and family that lead him astray. Surely his last-minute conversaion and deathbed proclamations to his son Luke count in the hearts of the good.
