Mr. Peabody and Sherman on blu-ray,DVD and digital HD Review

The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation.

Mr. Peabody, the most accomplished dog in the world, and his mischievous boy Sherman, use their time machine - the WABAC - to go on the most outrageous adventures known to man or dog. But when Sherman takes the WABAC out for a joyride to impress his friend Penny, they accidentally rip a hole in the universe, wreaking havoc on the most important events in world history.  Before they forever alter the past, present and future, Mr. Peabody must come to their rescue, ultimately facing the most daunting challenge of any era:  figuring out how to be a parent. Together, the time traveling trio will make their mark on history.
MR. PEABODY & SHERMAN is an adventure-comedy featuring science fiction, time travel, outlandish characters and clever dialogue, all of which are bound together by the unexpected relationship between the titular heroes – a dog and his boy.

MR. PEABODY & SHERMAN is, at its heart, the story of the relationship between a father and his son. “Mr. Peabody adopted Sherman and raised him the best way he knows how,” explains the film’s director, Rob Minkoff, whose previous hits include the beloved animated film “The Lion King” and the live-action/CG animated “Stuart Little.” “Like with any family, things become complicated, so they both must grow and learn from their experiences and ultimately become an even better family.”
Even a world-class genius like Mr. Peabody will always have a lot to learn when it comes to parenting. “Mr. Peabody has to acknowledge that he doesn’t always completely understand his son,” adds producer Alex Schwartz. “Peabody discovers that giving up control is one of the greatest challenges one faces as a parent.”
Some of Mr. Peabody’s parenting lessons come via decidedly non-traditional child-rearing methods – like taking Sherman in a series of incredible adventures traveling across time. Time travel is a compelling notion that lends an intriguing dimension to an exciting, adventure-filled story. The film’s contemporary characters interact with equally entertaining famous figures from history – a dynamic that provides surprising fish out of water moments and myriad culture clashes.
Journeying across the eras also offers a host of rules that must be followed – like never meeting yourself and having as little impact on the past as possible.
Mr. Peabody and Sherman’s entrée to the infinite folds of history is a wondrous contraption called the WABAC, which is the singular creation of the world’s greatest inventor, Mr. Peabody. The perspicacious pooch built the device so Sherman could experience history up close and personal.
The WABAC is much more than a vehicle; it’s character in its own right, which becomes an integral player in Peabody and Sherman’s adventures through time.

MY THOUGHTS

I had heard of this movie and it did sound interesting so I couldn't wait to watch it.
I watched it on the weekend and I absolutely loved this movie. It is very well written, the graphics are fantastic and I think people from all ages will love this one.  It is fun and funny and I is great for family movie nights.

I highly recommend Mr. Peabody and Sherman and I give this 5 out of 5

If you want to purchase this movie, it is now available in stores.

So you think you have trouble dealing with your sibling? Then you’ll howl with laughter and meow for more watching the madcap misadventures of the feline and canine brothers who bring a whole new meaning to the idea of “family bonding” in CatDog: The Complete Series.

On October 14th, Shout! Factory will release all 68 episodes of this fan-favorite series as a complete series DVD for the first time.

Brothers Cat and Dog couldn’t be more different — Cat is clever and cultured, while Dog is a naïve but lovable goofball. But they definitely share one thing in common: a body! This crazy set of conjoined twins find themselves in all sorts of silly adventures, but through them all, the two misfits stick togetherwhether they like it or not!

Originally airing from 1998-2005, CatDog: The Complete Series features an all-star voice cast which includesTom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants, Rocko’s Modern Life), Jim Cummings (The Super Hero Squad ShowReno 911) and Carlos Alazraqui (The Fairly OddParentsRocko’s Modern Life).

MY THOUGHTS

I admit I had never heard of this show before. Just by the description it sounded ok.    I watched the first disc a few days ago and let me tell you I think this show is stupid and boring. I didn't find it funny and personally I don't think I will ever watch this ever again.  I know my sister likes it and I know a few people that like it but I guess it just isn't for me.

If you liked this cartoon maybe you would want this but I think I will give this to my sister.

I give this 1 out of 5

MY REVIEW

I do like adventure games but I don't think I had ever played this game before but it sounded interesting so I decided to play it and tell you all what I think about it.

I played it for a good hour and I really did enjoy playing it . It is a point and click traditional style adventure game. The graphics are very good  so it doesn't look as horrible as games did back 20 years ago.

All in all it is a good game.It isn't easy so you do get a challenge while playing this game.  It is fun and the graphics are good.

I give this 4 out of 5

Saving Money at Theme Parks

If you’re laughing your head off at the title of this post because the very idea of saving money at a theme park seems like an oxymoron, we don’t blame you. Taking the family to a theme park for a day can really set you back if you pay full price. Even a single adult ticket to many of the popular theme parks can cost more than dinner and a movie for two.

But the good news is that if you do a little planning before you go you can easily cut costs with online discounts, two-for-one vouchers and other strategies. We’re all for spontaneous adventures but when it comes to theme parks, planning ahead of time is much wiser than simply deciding on the spur of the moment to go to Legoland and showing up at the gate with the youngsters in tow. Here are a few tips for making a potentially wallet-whomping adventure a little more manageable.

1. Always book ahead. If you buy your tickets on the day you go it’s almost always more expensive than booking in advance. And if you don’t want to use the rides and attractions yourself but are simply accompanying the kids, you can probably get a drastically reduced price for yourself.
2. Use those loyalty points. Generally speaking, loyalty points can be cashed in for days out. One example is the Tesco Clubcard; holders of that card can convert their voucher points into tokens, and those tokens can be worth up to five times the vouchers’ face value. They can be applied toward entry into many UK attractions.
3. Find a “two-fer.” There are many two-for-one-deals available; shop around on web site such as TopDogDays.com or MoneySavingExpert.com. Some attractions do not accept these discounts but it never hurts to check.
4. Take advantage of package deals. If you plan to spend a couple of days at a park you can sometimes get good value by purchasing a short-break package. For instance an overnight package might include discounted entry fees and a night in a family room at a park’s partner hotel. Note however that in many cases only paying family members count when determining the discount qualifications. We mention this because at some attractions, children under a certain age or height are admitted free, and some packages require a minimum of four paying members (two parents and two paying children, for instance). Even so, check out what is available and you might be able to nab a package deal that’s just right for your family.
5. Whenever possible take your own food and drinks. Whilst some attractions don’t allow you to bring your own food and beverages, most UK theme parks have dedicated picnic areas. Of course you will want to check in advance to make sure you aren’t packing a scrumptious picnic lunch only to be forbidden from taking it past the gate. Amusement park fare is notoriously overpriced but if you do plan to buy meals on site, you might be able to buy an “all you can eat” ticket in advance to save money.
6. Cut down on expenses by using train or coach. Since many attractions charge premium prices to park your car, you might be able to save by taking a train or coach. If you use the National Rail’s Days Out Guide web site you can download two-for-one entry vouchers, saving you even more. And when you use National Express’s coach services you can get a similar deal.
Deals are constantly changing of course. For up to date info on theme park bargains, see this page on the Money Saving Expert site:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/cheap-theme-parks
Save a little money now at the theme parks, and you’ll have more to spend on those overpriced toys the kids will be hollering for as Christmas approaches. Have fun!

MY THOUGHTS

I have never really played a game like this before but I decided to give it a try.
First off I have to say I am horrible at this game but it is fun if you are into this kind of game.  I love simulation games but I didn't like this one at all. It could be because I was doing horrible in the game.
The graphics are great for a 3DS game and even though I didn't like the game it doesn't mean you or your child won't like it.

SLEEPING BEAUTY: DIAMOND EDITION

The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation.

“Sleeping Beauty” tells the wondrous tale of a princess cursed by an evil fairy, protected by three loving fairies and, ultimately, saved by “true love’s kiss.” Featuring the voice talents of renowned opera singer Mary Costa as Sleeping Beauty and Disney stalwart Eleanor Audley as the evil fairy, Maleficent, the film’s vibrant visuals were created by a team that included Milt Kahl and Ollie Johnston, two of Disney’s legendary Nine Old Men and an Academy Award®-nominated score, 1959, adapted from the incandescent music of Peter Tchaikovsky. “Sleeping Beauty” is the sixteenth animated feature in the Disney animated features canon and was the last animated feature produced by Walt Disney to be based upon a fairy tale. It is the tenth film released as part of Disney’s prestigious Blu-ray Diamond Collection.
Creating the ultimate at-home viewing experience, Disney’s 2-Disc Diamond Edition Blu-ray Superset (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy) contains digitally restored picture and sound, a digital copy of the film, and a variety of magical new bonus features, including “Once Upon A Parade,” in which “Modern Family” star Sarah Hyland tells us the tale of Walt Disney World’s new Festival Of Fantasy Parade, “Art of Evil: Generations Of Disney Villains,” a legacy piece spotlighting Disney’s favorite villain animator and Maleficent creator Marc Davis, and “@DisneyAnimation: Artists in Motion,” in which Walt Disney Animation Visual Development artist Brittney Lee goes through the process of creating a three dimensional sculpture of Maleficent, completely out of paper.
Additional all-new bonus features include never-before-seen deleted scenes “The Fair” (with Deleted Character The Vulture,) “The Curse is Fulfilled” and “Arrival Of Maleficent,” plus the Beauty-Oke sing-along to “Once Upon A Dream.” The Blu-ray Superset also includes classic DVD bonus features and more!
MY THOUGHTS
I don't remember ever seeing this movie. I know it most likely played on tv a bunch of times when i was a kid but I really don't remember ever seeing it.
I watched it yesterday and I did enjoy it  and loved the bonus features which includes never seen before deleted scenes and I actually did enjoy the movie. I have no clue why I haven't seen it before (if I did I do not remember). It is well done and I am so glad that I watched it.
I am so glad I received this to review and it will be added to my Disney collection for sure.
If you have a child who loved Disney movies or if you want to add it to your Disney collection than it is time to do so now because this will be available for a limited time only.
Sleeping Beauty Dianmon Edition is available now online and in stores near you.
*I have received a copy of this for my honest review*

Treatsbox September 2014 Review

The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation.

About Treatsbox

Every month they send you a box filled with  candies and snacks.  Some you have most likely tried before but some you may not have tried yet.

Treatsbox is a Canadian subscription box that offers two different subscription sizes, regular and epic. Regular box is $30 for 1 month and epic is $50 for 1 month. They also have 3 months, 6 months and 1 year plans. If you want to see the prices for those you can find out about it all at Treatsbox's subscription page. Oh and if you live in Canada shipping is free but for U.S. it is $10 for shipping.

Here is what was in September 2014's box:

These are sour foams.  I am not big on anything sour so I don't really like this but my husband does.

I think I am the only person who never liked Slush Puppies. I tried a tiny bit of this
and I do not like it at all. No one in this house like it either .
I always loved bubble gum and I love this one.
Ahh chocolate Loonies. These did not last long in this house because we love chocolate.  I have't
had chocolate coins in a long time.

Tootsie Pops are a big hit in this house as well.

More candies that didn't last long in this house.

We love toffee but really didn't like this one because it was so hard.
We  had a hard time  cutting them to pieces.  They are yummy
but trying to cut them into pieces was a pain.

Excel is my favourite gum.  I keep this in my purse and as soon as I saw this
gum in the box  I snatched it and put it in my purse right away.

Jelly Fish are big hits in this house . They are good

We sometimes buy this and eat as a snack so I knew this would not last long.

All in all  I think it is a great idea and even though this time there are some candies we didn't like I like Treatsbox.  My family got to try different things and we did get to try candies we wouldn't usually try.   I am very impress with this and I recommend this.
