The Flash: The Complete Fourth Season #Review

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the Blu-ray I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own.

In Season Four, the mission of Barry Allen, aka The Flash (Grant Gustin), is once more to protect Central City from metahuman threats. First, he’ll have to escape the Speed Force. With Barry trapped, the job of protecting Central City falls to his family – Detective Joe West (Jesse L. Martin); his fiancĂ©e, Iris West (Candice Patton); and Wally West/Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale) – and the team at S.T.A.R. Labs – Dr. Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker), Cisco Ramon/Vibe (Carlos Valdes) and brilliant scientist Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh). When a powerful villain threatens to level the city if The Flash doesn’t appear, Cisco risks everything to break Barry out of the Speed Force. But this is only the first move of a life-or-death chess game with Clifford DeVoe aka The Thinker (Neil Sandilands), a mastermind who’s always ten steps ahead of Barry, no matter how fast he’s running.  Shocking surprises come fast and furious in all 23 action-packed adventures featuring The Fastest Man Alive.

MY THOUGHTS

If you have been reading my blog for a while you will know that I love superhero shows but mostly DC ones so this review will not come as a surprise to you.

I have been loving The Flash since the very beginning and actually had to buy a season pass to the show because we do not have the channel it plays on but my husband and I always watch it on the same week it airs on television.

Anyway,  Both my husband and I loved season 4 because it was so action-packed and even though sometimes we just feel like yelling at the tv because the characters do something stupid.

I can't wait for the season 5 to start in October.

I am giving this season 4 out of 5.

Arrow: The Complete Sixth Season #Review

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the Blu-ray I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own

Following the devastating explosion on Lian Yu, Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) returns home to confront a challenge unlike any he’s ever faced: fatherhood. Oliver is determined to embrace this new role while continuing to serve and protect Star City as both Mayor and The Green Arrow. But enemies past and present, including Black Siren (Katie Cassidy), Vigilante (Johann Urb), Ricardo Diaz (Kirk Acevedo), Cayden James (Michael Emerson) and others, threaten him on all fronts. And bonds within the ranks of Team Arrow—veteran John Diggle (David Ramsey); tech genius Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards); former police captain Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne) and brilliant inventor Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum), plus newest team members Rene Ramirez/Wild Dog (Rick Gonzalez) and metahuman Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy)—have become dangerously decayed. The future of Star City is at stake in all 23 of Season Six’s ferociously fast-paced, can’t-miss episodes.

Own on Blu-rayTM and DVD 8/14

MY THOUGHTS

I do love DC shows and yes I love Arrow .

This is one of the few shows both my husband and I sit down to watch together each week and we both loved this past season.

Season 6 was action packed with such a great storyline that got us hooked. I loved every episode of season 6 and I can't wait for the next season to start.

I give this show 5 out of 5.

Riverdale: The Complete Second Season DVD #Review

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the Blu-ray I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own.

Based on the characters from Archie Comics, Riverdale returns with its subversive take on small-town life. Determined to protect the sanctity of his town in the wake of his father’s shooting by the Black Hood, season two of Riverdale finds Archie (KJ Apa) seeking justice…and vengeance. As a civil war brews between the Northside and the Southside, loyalties are divided. Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Jughead’s (Cole Sprouse) relationship enters fragile territory when Jughead decides to join the Southside Serpents and Betty’s long-lost brother Chic returns. Veronica (Camila Mendes) finds her life upended by her father Hiram’s (Mark Consuelos) arrival and his dark schemes for the town’s future. Everyone will have to pick a side, including Queen Bee Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch), star-to-be Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray), Kevin Keller (Casey Cott), and Reggie Mantle (Charles Melton). Things are never what you’d expect in Riverdale, and that’s especially true as Archie and the gang race to avert a full-on riot and to solve the mystery of the Black Hood.

Own on Blu-rayTM and DVD 8/7.

MY THOUGHTS

Like most Archie comics fan I was a little skeptical about this show because it is darker and different from the comics from my childhood but after watching one episode of the first season I was hooked on the show.

I liked season one so much that I actually watched it 2 times on Netflix and I had to buy it on dvd because I knew I wanted to watch it again in the future.

Season 2 was very good. It starts off right where last season's cliffhanger ended and boy was it so good.  I say anything else in case you are a fan and haven't seen season 2 yet.

There were some episodes that I didn't like as much but the season got me hooked with its twists and turns and made me want to watch more.

Now I just can't wait for season 3 to start (which is October 10th 2018).  I am super excited to see what season 3 will bring to the Riverdale gang.

I am giving this 5 out of 5

Plunging headlong into the campus experience, the increasingly outspoken Deanna—now Dee Rock—embraces freedom, fun and frat boys on her own terms, finding her true self in a senior year no one ever expected.

MY THOUGHTS

When I first saw the trailer for this movie I knew I just had to watch it because it looked like it would be so funny and like something I would enjoy.

As you all may know by now, I am very picky when it comes to comedy and that I do not watch many anymore but I am so glad I decided to give this one a chance because omg!!  I found this one to be hilarious and so entertaining that the time flew by so fast while I was watching the movie.   This is one I will be watching again in the near future.

I do highly recommend.

I give this 4 out of 5.

HERE AND NOW #Review

Here and Now follows the Bayer-Boatwrights, a progressive, suburban family led by philosophy professor, Greg (Robbins), and conflict-resolution consultant, Aubrey (Hunter), in Portland, Oregon. They’re a Caucasian couple with three now-grown adopted children from Liberia, Vietnam, and Colombia, as well as one teenage biological daughter. Although the Bayer-Boatwrights are materially rich, each member lacks happiness or fulfillment behind a seemingly perfect façade. Jerrika Hinton, Daniel Zovatto, Raymond Lee, Andy Bean, Sosie Bacon, and Joe Williamson also star in the series, which is also executive produced by Peter Macdissi, and David Knoller.

MY THOUGHTS

I admit I had never heard of this show before a few weeks ago but when I read the description I thought it sounded interesting.

I only was able to watch 2 episodes because sure the story sounded interesting but for some reason, I just couldn't stand this show at all. I found it to be boring.

I give this 1 out of 5.

The Death of Superman Blu-ray Combo Pack #Review

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the Blu-ray I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own.

The Man of Steel meets his ultimate match when Doomsday comes to Earth – hell bent on destroying everything and everyone in his path, including the Justice League – in the all-new, action-packed The Death of Superman, part of the popular series of DC Universe Movies. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment, the feature-length animated film arrives from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on Digital starting July 24, 2018, and on Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD August 7, 2018.

The Death of Superman will be available on Ultra HD Blu-rayCombo Pack ($39.99 SRP), Blu-ray Deluxe Gift Set ($39.99 SRP), Blu-ray Combo Pack ($24.98 SRP) and DVD ($19.98 SRP), as well as on Digital ($19.99 HD, $14.99 SD). The Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack features an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc in 4K with HDR and a Blu-ray disc featuring the film; the Blu-ray Deluxe Gift Set includes a collectible Superman figurine; the Blu-ray Combo Pack features the film in hi-definition; and the DVD features the movie in standard definition. The Ultra HD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Combo Pack include a digital version of the film.

The Death of Superman ultimately finds Superman in a fight to the finish when the Man of Steel becomes the only hero who can stand in the way of the monstrous creature Doomsday and his unstoppable rampage of destruction.

As the inaugural film in the DC Universe Movies series, Superman Doomsday told an abridged version of “The Death Of Superman,” DC Comics’ landmark 1992-93 comic phenomenon. But with a runtime of 75 minutes, the film focused on a core, singular storyline. The new, animated The Death of Superman, the first of a two-part film experience that will conclude with Reign of the Supermen in early 2019, restores many of the moments and characters that fans hold dear to their hearts.

The all-star cast is led by Jerry O’Connell (Crossing Jordan, Stand By Me), Rebecca Romijn (X-Men, The Librarians) and Rainn Wilson (The Office) as the voices of Superman, Lois Lane and Lex Luthor, respectively. The potent trio is joined by the DC Universe Movies’ returning voices of the Justice League: Jason O’Mara (The Man in High Castle, Terra Nova) as Batman, Rosario Dawson (Sin City, Rent, Daredevil) as Wonder Woman, Shemar Moore (S.W.A.T., Criminal Minds) as Cyborg, Nathan Fillion (Castle, ABC’s upcoming The Rookie) as Green Lantern/Hal Jordan, and Christopher Gorham (Covert Affairs, Ugly Betty) as The Flash.

Producer Sam Liu (Gotham by Gaslight, Teen Titans: The Judas Contract) co-directs The Death of Superman with Jake Castorena (Justice League Action) from a script by New York Times best-selling author Peter J. Tomasi (Green Lantern: Emerald Knights). Executive Producers are Sam Register and James Tucker (Suicide Squad: Hell To Pay, Justice League Dark).

Available online and in stores now.

MY THOUGHTS

I was so excited when my copy came that I just had to watch it right away.

I know some people didn't like it but both my husband and I just loved this movie.  We both thought it was well done. Loved the voice acting and the story was very well done. I swear this movie was so entertaining that the time went by so fast.

I am giving this 5 out of 5.

This movie was action-packed but the story was just ok. It had some issues and wasn't really believable . It was a OK movie but I don't think it is one I would watch again.

I give this 3 1/2 out of 5

Mosaic On Blu-ray/DVD #Review

The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation.

From the Oscar® and Emmy® award-winning director and executive producer Steven Soderbergh (Erin Brockovich, Cinemax’s The Knick), HBO’s groundbreaking six-part limited series Mosaic arrives on Blu-ray and DVD on July 10, 2018. Starring Oscar®-nominee Sharon Stone (Casino), along with Garrett Hedlund (Mudbound), Beau Bridges (The Fabulous Baker Boys), Paul Reubens (Pee-wee’s Big Adventure) and more, the Mosaic Blu-ray and DVD comes with a two-part featurette, “Heart of Homicide.”

A twisting tale of passion, intrigue and deception, set against the backdrop of a mountain resort town, Mosaic follows popular children’s book author and illustrator Olivia Lake (Sharon Stone), whose literary success makes her a local celebrity in the tight-knit community. When Olivia disappears on New Year’s Eve, leaving behind a blood-soaked studio, the town’s suspicions turn to the two new men in her life: handsome, young aspiring graphic artist Joel Hurley (Garrett Hedlund) and charming stranger Eric Neill (Frederick Weller). The four-year investigation that follows leaves local law enforcement lead by detective Nate Henry (Devin Ratray) and Eric’s sister Petra (Jennifer Ferrin), to unravel the mystery in this captivating series that explores the psychological underpinnings of love and murder in a small town.

MY THOUGHTS

My husband and I do not have HBO with our cable package and I admit I had not heard of Mosaic.

I have watched all the episodes this weekend . This is one show from HBO that I can say I have found that is interesting. It isn't the best show out there but it did keep me watching and I was entertained.

It starts off strong and kept me watching. I did find it to have a slow start and it was a little bit confusing. I am not sure if it was made to be confusing or maybe it was just me.

I give this 3 1/2 out of 5.

Get 500 bonus SB when you sign up for Swagbucks in August (INT)

All throughout August you can earn large bonuses when sign up as my referral on Swagbucks. Swagbucks is a rewards site where you earn points (called SB) for things you're probably doing online already, like searching the web, watching videos, shopping, discovering deals, and taking surveys. Then you take those points and exchange them for gift cards to places like Amazon, Target, or PayPal cash.

When you sign up through me this month, you can earn a 500 SB bonus! Here's how:

1. Sign up using this link

2. Earn 500 SB total before September 1st, 2018. You'll get a 500 SB bonus for it!

3. That's it. It's super easy, and Swagbucks is for real. I use it myself, and I've earned a lot of SB and redeemed them for a lot ( about $100 this year alone) of Amazon gift cards.

I have been using Swagbucks for years.
